Arrive in Lhasa
Welcome to Lhasa, the heart of Tibet. Upon arrival at Lhasa Gonggar Airport or Lhasa Railway Station, your local guide and driver will greet you and transfer you to your hotel in downtown Lhasa.
During the drive, enjoy views of the scenic Lhasa River and your first glimpse of the Tibetan Plateau. After hotel check-in, the remainder of the day is free for rest. Since Lhasa sits at an altitude of approximately 3,650 meters, it is recommended to take it easy, drink plenty of water, and allow your body time to acclimatize.

Discover Lhasa – Potala Palace, Jokhang Temple & Barkhor Street
After breakfast, begin your exploration of Tibet’s capital with a visit to the magnificent Potala Palace, the iconic landmark of Tibet and former winter residence of the Dalai Lamas. Standing high above the city, this UNESCO World Heritage Site houses invaluable Buddhist relics, exquisite murals, sacred scriptures, and golden stupas.
A complimentary afternoon tea experience near Potala Palace is included.
Later, continue to the revered Jokhang Temple, Tibet’s most important religious site. Built during the Tubo Kingdom period, the temple attracts countless pilgrims who come to worship the famous statue of the young Buddha Sakyamuni.
Outside the temple, wander through the lively Barkhor Street, where pilgrims and visitors circle the sacred temple while spinning prayer wheels and chanting mantras.
In the evening, enjoy a complimentary Tibetan welcome dinner.

Lhasa – Yamdrok Lake – Karola Glacier – Shigatse
Today you’ll leave Lhasa and travel westward across some of Tibet’s most spectacular landscapes.
Your first highlight is Yamdrok Lake, one of Tibet’s three sacred lakes. Its brilliant turquoise waters stretch across the plateau, creating one of the region’s most photographed scenes.
Continue to the impressive Karola Glacier, a massive glacier descending from the surrounding snow-capped peaks. The ice formations provide a striking contrast against the rugged mountain terrain.
Along the route, pass through Gyantse, a historic Tibetan town famous for its fortress and cultural heritage. After crossing the fertile Gyantse Plain, arrive in Shigatse, Tibet’s second-largest city.

Shigatse – Tingri – Everest Base Camp
Following breakfast, journey deeper into the Himalayas toward the world’s highest mountain.
Travel through Lhatse and Tingri, crossing several high mountain passes including Gyatso La Pass (5,220m). Weather permitting, you may catch your first distant view of Mount Everest along the way.
Upon entering the Mount Everest National Nature Reserve, visit Rongbuk Monastery, the highest monastery in the world and one of the most famous viewpoints for Mount Everest.
Continue to Everest Base Camp (5,200m), where you’ll have the opportunity to stand face-to-face with the tallest peak on Earth.
In the evening, enjoy a complimentary Everest Hot Pot dinner.

E.B.C. – Shigatse
Wake early for one of the most memorable moments of the trip. Sunrise over Mount Everest often paints the summit with golden light, creating an unforgettable Himalayan panorama.
Spend time enjoying the surrounding mountain scenery before beginning the return journey.
In the afternoon, drive back to Shigatse.

Shigatse – Tashilhunpo Monastery – Lhasa
This morning, visit Tashilhunpo Monastery, the traditional seat of the Panchen Lamas and one of the most influential monasteries of the Gelug School of Tibetan Buddhism.
The monastery is famous for its magnificent 26-meter-tall Maitreya Buddha statue, intricate chapels, and rich religious heritage.
After the visit, travel back to Lhasa through the scenic Yarlung Tsangpo Valley.

Lhasa – Namtso Lake – Northern Tibet Grasslands – Lhasa
After breakfast, set out for Namtso Lake, one of the most famous natural attractions in Tibet and one of the region’s three sacred lakes.
The journey itself is part of the experience. Along the way, you’ll travel across the vast Northern Tibet Grasslands, pass sections of the Qinghai-Tibet Highway, and enjoy distant views of the magnificent Nyainqentanglha Mountain Range. Herds of yaks and sheep often dot the open plains, offering a glimpse into the traditional nomadic lifestyle of northern Tibet.
Crossing Nagenla Pass (5,190m), you’ll reach the breathtaking shores of Namtso. At an altitude of more than 4,700 meters, Namtso is recognized as one of the highest saltwater lakes in the world. Its crystal-clear blue waters, framed by snow-capped mountains, create one of the most spectacular landscapes on the Tibetan Plateau.
After spending time at the lake, return to Lhasa while continuing to enjoy the scenery of the Changtang grasslands.
